I booked a ticket for the Patient Safety Congress 2020 which was cancelled due to covid-19. Can I transfer my ticket to this year’s Congress instead?

Yes. If you were due to attend the PSC on 13-14 July 2020, you will have received an email from our team with instructions on how to transfer your ticket to this year. If you need further support, please contact eventssupport@hsj.co.uk.

Why have the event dates been pushed back from July to September 2021?

As you will be only too aware, our healthcare system continues to face an unprecedented challenge due to the ongoing covid-19 situation.  As a result, HSJ have decided to push back the Patient Safety Congress which will now take place on 20-21 September 2021 at Manchester Central.

Having discussed with colleagues, past speakers and contacts within the healthcare and events sector, we believe that by holding the event in September we will be able to bring people together for the Patient Safety Congress and Awards at the same scale as we would usually do. We know that there will be a lot for us to discuss and share, and we look forward to being able to see our community again. 

Will the topics from last year’s programme be carried over?

The Congress programme each year is developed based on our research with delegates, speakers, patients and patient safety experts. Some of the topics from last year that are still relevant will be carried forward to this year’s programme and adapted. However, with so many recent challenges and innovations presented by the pandemic, we will also be incorporating new topics to ensure that the programme is up to date, relevant and beneficial to you and your teams.

I am booking places for my colleagues – how will they get their ticket?

Congress: Once you have been registered, you just need to provide your name at the registration desk on the day of the event, where we will print your badge for you. There is no physical ticket to the event.

Awards: The booker will be sent an email from our awards support team in mid-August. This will include details about your booking and a link to the awards portal where you will be able to add in your guest information. There is no physical ticket to the event as all guests will be checked in by name on arrival.

Can I give my ticket to a colleague if I am no longer able to make it on the event day?

Congress: Yes. Please advise our customer service team up to 48hrs before the event if somebody else will be attending in your place. If there is a name change on the day of the event, please advise our customer service helpdesk.

Awards: If you can no longer attend the awards then you will be able to transfer your place to a colleague. There will be instructions on how to do this once you are confirmed to attend.

How many CPD points will earn?

Delegates who book a FULL ONSITE DELEGATE ACCESS + ON-DEMAND RECORDINGS ticket, will automatically earn 12 CPD points from onsite sessions and will have the opportunity to gain an extra 26 CPD points via on-demand access.

Delegates who book an ON-DEMAND RECORDINGS ONLY ticket, will have the opportunity to earn up to 38 CPD points.

EVENT SAFETY

The safety of everyone who attends the HSJ Patient Safety Congress is of foremost importance.

Manchester Central and HSJ are continuing to monitor government and industry updates closely around delivering events safely, which will include learnings from pilot events that are due to run in May 2021. All safety measures and plans at the venue and during the live event will then be refined and adjusted based on those outcomes. Further information will be available mid-July.

Measures already in place:

  • Hand sanitiser dispensers will be placed at key areas such as entrances, catering areas, and entry to sessions. Hand sanitiser will also be at every staff entrance and usage will be mandatory by all staff.
  • The frequency of cleaning and sanitising will be increased in all public spaces with an emphasis on frequent contact surfaces
  • Surfaces such as tabletops, floors and furniture coverings will be subject to revised cleaning protocols to ensure they remain hygienically clean at all times during the event.
  • All staff at the venue will undertake training around hygiene protocols in place at the venue which will be implemented and communicated by the senior management on-site team
  • The venue has heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system which is regularly maintained to best practice engineering standards, and has fresh air exchange maximised within the venue.
