Dr Suzette Woodward is an expert in patient safety and has been studying safety in healthcare settings since the 1990s.  She has worked in the NHS for 40 years, as a general nurse at St Thomas’ Hospital and as a paediatric intensive care nurse at Guy’s Hospital. Suzette has worked at a national level for over twenty years, including board director at the NPSA and NHS Resolution and is currently senior advisor for the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS Resolution.

She has a master’s in clinical risk and a doctorate in patient safety. Her research focused on implementation of patient safety. Suzette has been a visiting professor for Imperial College University in London since 2016. She is an author of two books: Rethinking Patient Safety and Implementing Patient Safety.
