Sue worked as a dental therapist/senior oral health promoter for 42 years. Throughout her working career she treated patients with multiple complex needs, organised oral health training events for healthcare professionals, workshops for parents and carers and delivered teaching sessions in schools, prisons, residential care homes and hospitals.

Sue is a proud mum of two children. Nick, her youngest child, was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex when he was only four months old. Sue became a trustee of UKTSC and Editor of SCAN, the national newsletter of the Tuberous Sclerosis Association, for 13 years.

Sadly, Sue’s son Nick died a tragic, preventable death in an NHS hospital on 17th December 2014.  Since the loss of her son Sue has worked tirelessly with healthcare professionals   to ensure that valuable lessons are not only learnt but that culture change and action is taken to save the lives of vulnerable patients.
