Jo Wailling RN is senior research fellow, facilitator and accredited mediator at Te Ngāpara Centre for Restorative Practice, Victoria University of Wellington. She leads health and disability system research and practice, advising international government agencies, researchers, and advocacy groups on restorative initiatives and system safety. Jo has previously held clinical, professional, and national leadership roles within the NHS and the New Zealand Health and Disability sector. Jo co-designed and evaluated New Zealand's restorative approach to surgical mesh harm in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the consumer advocacy group Mesh Down Under, the first national inquiry to apply a restorative response to healthcare harm. She co-chairs the National Collaborative for Restorative Initiatives in Healthcare, is an active member of the Resilient Healthcare Society, and is an advisory board member for Harmed Patients Alliance.
