Jayne Addison is an experienced adult nurse in clinical haematology and clinical transfusion practice. More recent experience includes moving away from direct patient care with a focus on patient safety, audit, education and haemovigilance while working as a Patient Blood Management Practitioner for NHS Blood and Transplant and Serious Hazards of Transfusion (SHOT). In 2019 Jayne moved back into the acute hospital setting to pursue her passion for patient safety as the Patient Safety and Risk Lead for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. This role was a huge learning curve and Jayne realised there was little peer support with those working in patient safety outside of The Christie, so reached out to like colleagues on twitter. The knowledge gained through that one interaction has snowballed to the development of the Patient Safety Managers Network.
